Other than a couple of shopping trips, we hadn't really given the new power wheelchair a good run but recently we headed to Eastbourne for a couple of days.
The weather was great and the freedom my new Invacare TDX SP2 chair gave to both my wife and I was amazing. Now free of struggling to push my manual chair, Diane could walk at her own speed and go into any shops she wished without having to worry about me.
I could either follow her and browse the parts I liked or whizz off to shops that I wanted to see. Being independently mobile, I didn't need constant help and I was amazed, if a little shaken up at times, as to just what tough surfaces and kerbs the TDX was able to handle with ease - even large cobblestones didn't give it pause - although I think I weakened well before my chair would.

From the narrow streets of Brighton to the lawns and gravel paths around the Battle of Hastings site at Battle Abbey, I was carried safely and comfortably everywhere. The TDX gave me both freedom of movement and a great boost in my independence and self-confidence.
The set up on the chair, done by Steve (Cumbria Mobility), has proven absolutely spot on and I am delighted by the battery life - that chair will keep traveling long after I am tired out! Extremely comfortable and thanks to the fitted holdall Steve very kindly provided I am able to carry all my own kit, plus a jacket, water bottle and shopping - although I have convinced Diane that there is a maximum load weight, so she does not get too over enthusiastic !

Lawns and tended verges are no problem, gravel paths, cobblestones and any sort of road/footpath surface is all taken in its stride by the TDX. The choice of speed profiles have proven particularly useful, especially when very carefully manoeuvring around priceless antiques in the Brighton Pavilion!
In summary, both Diane and I are delighted with our Invacare TDX SP2 power wheelchair, it meets our every expectation and need and then exceeds them.
